EVIL

EVIL 180901 1825 If one does something bad, that is bad. If one persists willfully in that bad course, that is evil. There are many ways horrible things happen, and one of them is the reluctance of the american people to get involved as a nation. One now hopes folks will not say USA cannot or should not be the policeman of the world --- but i guess USA now merely cwants to take care of certain matters, and still avoid responsibility otherwise. 5000 people means much or little depending on who it is --- Newyorkers or Bosnians or Ruandans. How many americans are killed regularly by the tobacco industry? by defective roads and cars? etc. 230901 1756 Remark by Henry Kissinger (on tv a day or so ago) with reference to his activities vs Chile: “You simply cannot judge the actions of one period by the standards of another”. It must be a line spoken by Satan in some Mediaeval pageant. Could there now be a re-issuing of that picture of him (supposedly)(?) nude, but adding a devil-tail, with that remark as caption?

111001 1934 Maybe bin Laden is merely a spoiled brat.

131001 1656 In WW2, the USA admiral, Admiral King, is held responsible (cf Discovery tv) for massive losses at outset of war, along coasts of USA by German U-boats, amounting to about the same number of deaths as September 11, 2001, (besides dangerous harm to our war effort) due to gross incompetence (and that he was allowed to get away with it by FDR!!!!!!!!!!!!).

1700 Is not Charlton Heston as dangerous a terrorist as bin Laden? (CH is head of NRA (National Rifle Association (USA)) --- and the entire tobacco industry.

onsdag 17. oktober 2001 18:28 The word “evil” is topical now what with Usurper aping the nutty ones who call USA evil. There are some who bridle at employing the word to refer to anything not in Dante, so to speak. But we now see the wisdom of using the word in a secular context --- the phobia vs demonizing people such as the bad Serbs allied to Mladich etc, is puerile. USSR was indeed an evil empire, and the taliban, bin Laden and his ilk are certainly evil. it`s a no-brainer. The problem for some is that they have a compulsion to mean only creatures invented by the Vatican etc when they say “evil”. and why do some people think of evil as unanalyzable?!

fredag 19. oktober 2001 20:56 terrorism: foot and mouth and mad cow.

Is it agenda that defines terrorism? or is callous disregard and willful harm enuf?! and what of domestic (rather than international) terrorism? is domestic terror called treason? what is the relationship philosophically between terror and evil ? And what about the evil done by fools who are taken as wise, e g, those who got many to refrain from procreation, on the basis tat it was merely selfish, egotitical, irresponsible projection of ego? Is that social Darwinism --- getting those less “fit” (i e, the fools who follow such crap) to not procreate? (I say procreate rather than reproduce, when refering to humans, as there is some choice involved in what they do, as opposed to making more chickens on the farm.) If Leno etc had mocked airline safety over the past decades, would they not have been in trouble with the industry? And have you seen the report about how the SAS jumbojet got whacked at Milan recently? Sort of what I expect from Italy. See “Guardian” 16-10-01. and doubtless the Cessna was not blamable. By the way, its gonna be awful embarrassing when in USA air crashes occur due to not terrorism, but instead because of lack of normal safety precautions, like installing the long overdue radar. If it is not safety first, it is evil.

onsdag 16. januar 2002 22:04 In The Communist Manifesto Marx and engels express surprise that many middle class folks promote the interests of the lower classes --- but that question is typically naive: people seize the opportunity to be demagogues when they have disappointed aspirations of grandeur, like Binladn.
