HELPFUL HINTS
HELPFUL HINTS.
ABOUT REMOVING TICKS: as with splinters, do not flick it into your (or someone else´s) eye (wear goggles or glasses)
do it where it wont get lost.
sterilize scalpel between uses to avoid putting disease from wound A into wound B.
do not share instruments with diseased persons (i e, anyone).
do not suck it in (wear face mask).
if an ear suddenly gets itchy, refrain from scratching while operating.
keepaway abrupt interrupters, like kids or hysterical bitches like my late mother, Beedee.
clean hands etc afterward. 120701 18:24
070801 07:53 When visiting homes of little children, remember to circumspectly remember there are details you have to imagine so as to avoid accidents.
150801 16:04 Be aware that people do not want to return books---it is like love, especially in Norway.
120901 2221 If you think that after eating a delicious curry, you will be able, some hours later, to get out a fart without folks noticing the smell, you would be wrong.
180901 1856 Remember that farts very in length of time they take to get up to nose level as well as out of pants --- do not walk back into the room too soon.
1858 Remember what you learned from september 11, 2001, about the dishonesty of the establishment and the sheeplike venality of everyone, as seen in lack of precautions and refusal to warn users of those buildings --- trust no one.
131001 1703 Watch out shopping on Saturdays, for “Saturday walkers” --- like “Sunday drivers” they are not used to being among crowds (are you?)
søndag 21. oktober 2001 18:35 Enthusiasm, like fear, can be sensed and make you a target irresistable; so, unless you are in a situation of real trust or not care if you lose, like love or sex, then you should reserve enthusiasm for pretended, and that is understood by all and sundry.
torsdag 25. oktober 2001 21:23 Keep knees unlocked, keep them loose, especially like when on bouncing bus (like back section of articulated).
lørdag 27. oktober 2001 17:41 Remember when you say goodbye, to follow thru --- the other person(s) may look back etc. Also, use your imagination to participate in the process, as e g, if there is a staircase which turns and changes direction, so that the prson leaving can then look at you --- this may be in a place you are not used to. But do not expect too much --- some people having said goodbye go off into another mental world. Saying goodbye is frought with whatever.
17:57 To help re e g, Anthrax: Let´s have large post-cards (avoiding envelopes), and/or other inventive throwbacks, like V-letters (V-mail)(thin folded envelope-less letters used in WW2 to save paper etc)(should have been in use for ecology anyway)(maybe terrorism will wake us up to some ecological efficiencies). How about e-mail booths (public)(and directories) to send messages, which even could be delivered as snail- mail to those without web --- safe(r) because coming from post office itself (transcribed)(and note, message put in at e g L A would avoid paper flying across country, by being transcribed into snail-mail at e g Atlanta) . Hate to mention it, but in Franco´s time, I as tourist in Spain, sending packages, they had to be packed by postal clerks at post office --- no unibomber, no anthrax. Yeh yeh, Franco (but indeed maybe even now, what with Basque terrorism) --- but some of our liberties are just silly. by the way, penicillin spelled wrong by terrorist(s) (seen on Fox News) --- also, has question been asked, was penman originally taught to write e g Arabic (right to left)? hey --- or Chinese (down in columns), shucks! And maybe terrorist DID die: corpses found? or who bought penicillin etc as precaution, or who is MD, and of course, penman could be separate from scientist. by the way, victim journalists seem all to be center or left ( choices sincere and/or insidious?). I do hope all this current terrorism actually functions as homeopathic therapy to wake up the dumb american puerile, and defeat also the other terrorists who are always with us (the special interests that have always blocked progress toward security and normal safety). Dead is dead --- Gotthard Tunnel, “Estonia”, Milan Airport, etc etc etc etc etc add up to far more than died Sept 11. But Clinton should have dealt with terrorism as ongoing military challenge, and thought like Wellington, who said he was always busy guessing what was going to come at him from the other side of the hills. Thinking like terrorists would have enabled him to block sky-jackings Sept 11, by covertly positioning Delta Force guys on the planes most likely to be invaded etc. --- never mind Congress. But what I am coming to is that Presidents should go to President Academies (like Annapolis etc) --- as it is, they are amateurs, however brilliant. But of course we do not want doctrinaire pupils in Oval Office --- still, there must be serious study of what it means to be President. I myself discuss this theoretically, but the scope must be vastly wider, and with a special approach: President is not the same as any other calling.
20:09 Has it occured to anyone that you could have video cameras mounted inside air-liners and connected not only to crew view, but also directly to ground control police?
20:11 What with the terrorism threats, what ´s happeneing re blood-clots due to inactivity on long flights (what if I want to walk around?). by the way, people are not helped by having to all of a sudden jump up and run after their bags long distances etc, and then grab them and proceed similarly --- not to mention the stress of losing bags, or possibility of that.
20:15 I hear that the bus from Oslo to its airport (Gardermoen) lacks seat belts proper for babies.
22:53 Recently on Euronews tv; each year in Europe 80,000 suitcases are misplaced by airport baggage --- 10,000 are never recovered (12%) --- do they tell you that at the tourist agency?!
søndag 11. november 2001 19:37 When my grand-daughter was about three months old she started gazing intently into my eyes. Now she is nine months old, and that has not continued. I guess it lasted about three months. I hope adults etc will consider this when dealing with infants. I suppose babies sorta take one into their computers. but it is doubtlaess more than that. I suggest it may well be important. Maybe they are seeking relationship, and that seeking must be answered by availability (Psychologist Professor Jim Klee said: “What parents have to be is : available”). Imagine a baby hoping to find a human being behind your eyes and getting frozen ice, or frozen icecream. Anyway, use your imagination. Also. do not let others distract that important contact when it is happening --- tell them in advance that it may happen that you wil ignore them occasionally because you are returning eye contact with the baby, so they should not be insulted. They can also help re other kids interruption. Of course keep a weather nostril for if emergency, like A-bomb etc. Also, do not shut off abruptly --- let the infant well and truly break off first. And do not foolishly keep smiling etc: the baby needs and offers simple unexpressive serious response as well as laughter. Anyway, she has by now (i mention that I visited about three times a month) moved on to more cursory gaze, but well anchored in our beautiful relationship.
torsdag 15. november 2001 00:01 To remove a diskette you have put in backwards, use two plastic knives as chopsticks.
00:02 I just discovered that indeed one can get a mild shock from touching skart cable tips when connected.
søndag 18. november 2001 03:08 I was about age forty (my usage) when i discovered to get up from sitting on chair etc, by heels instead of balls of feet.
09:45 I suppose the anthrax does not come from Rash Limburger, but maybe he knows of a fan ...
h hints one of the secrets of a long ife is to avoid rushing in the morning when you get up. Also taking an hour to snooze lets the thinking you have been doing during the night of sleep to come frth --- this may also free your mind for focusing on the events of the day, so to speak.
----------
life is complex --- complicated is fun; yet people are aways complaining about the complicatednesses. Relax and enjoy it --- that´s fun. It needn´t be simple like meditating all the time. We can try to live in meditation, but we can also suffer due to our folly, and enjoy that too. within reason. avoiding perversity.
now what with computer slanguage (my neologism?) we can instead of using the word “normal” we can use the jargon “default”.

In trying to figure out what was wrong with that jetliner, the Comet, didnt (no apostrophe required, as there can be no confusion) the Brits try to ask each other what might have been altered or missed --- i mean it eventually was so obvious. Was it due to Brit class crap, not challenging each other? Anyway, remember such when you yourself mess up; to keep perspective and not hate yourself, too much.

The sitting toilet little room for males in the MacDonalds on Storgata at Ploensgt in Oslo, is too small for an adult. This is besides the general fact that for example in the mens toilet for sitting at my pub, Oslo Mikrobryggeriet on Holtegt, the actual toiet seat is too small. The soap dispenser doesnt work and the toilet seat is too small (sounds like a verse from Procul Harum, song I love about overcoat). What ever happened to those toiletseats shaped like keyholes? take too much space?

h hints:søndag 13. januar 2002 17:14 Trust not, want not.
Do police use loudspeakers mountable elsewhere than beside cop, and also to avoid having to hail the bad guy (bad guy cannot convince self he can evaluate cop, and cop need not be distracted by having to speak) --- I mean cop to push buttons and loudspeaker says this or that, and is placed well away from cop; same principle for flashlights etc.
h hints søndag 13. januar 2002 18:18 In Norway the door to what we euphemistically call the bathroom is kept shut and the light inside on. There is a lot of cheap electricity in Norway. But i suggest three lights in the bathroom, basically: one on all the time for pissing, a special light for make-up, and a middle light for general use. That way we would avoid having a big light on all the time.
onsdag 16. januar 2002 20:58 How about Crawl-suits, so people can crawl around on the ground among leaves etc.
Why have not the cockpits of airliners been designed all along to included all requisites, like toilets and kitchens, so pilots etc need not come out ever? Indeed, for long flights, pilots could have bedrooms, including bringing along their mates for conjugal type rest periods. And playrooms for their small kids.
How about a, say, three minute timer that rings so you can shut your eyes while the ads are on tv and also not listen.
22:10 Distinguish between your two legs.
Beware in running your fingers over the fold of a newspaer lest a staple not only cut you, but also fall out to be eaten by a baby.
In everyday life etc one should remember what Admiral Rickover said about the pipes.
Often one is asked a question and a complete answer is not desired by the questioner, but the questionee wants to answer completely (or relatively so); accordingly one should be free to ask for: “Permission to answer completely”.
Instead of that nonsensical bit of saying to a child not eating, “Eat your food, they are starving in China!” say: “Eat your food --- you don´t want Republicans to get it, do you?!”
tirsdag 29. januar 2002 17:57 Consider that people sit anywhere in public, on busses, trains etc; then they go home and sit on chairs and beds --- who knows what terrible germs they transmit? I suggest that folks use maybe napkins to sit on in public, or a spray when they get home, or a special place to sit on with purifying chemicals. How else correct this widespread problem?!
onsdag 6. februar 2002 20:56 In Oslo prices vary drastically not only vs 7-11, but also local stores vs supermarkets (by local I do not mean local ) --- the corner miniunsupermarket charges 140% (almost half again as much) for raisins and dishwash (same brands). But even vs supermarkets (such as they are here in little Oslo) are some shocking differences, as same brand sardines can in one costs 11 krowns, and in another 14 (about 9 krowns to the U S dollar). There are other amazing differences. Maybe this ...yes, i will copy this (Helpful Hints bit) into my section Laugh Tor.
fredag 22. februar 2002 19:15 Well, I checked some days later and find the sardines price was doubtless an error that others besides me must have commented on, for lo and behold, it now is changed to the usual lower price and withal now is also a new type with tomato sauce at even a krown cheaper; or of course the guy who installs the new lot caught the error.
